10th Image in my Portfolio
We were assigned to photograph Shadows too. This is a shadow of a lamp. Like I said earlier I was going to put up an error image. Obviously the image on the left is the error....and the one on the right is the right print.
What happened here: After running a test strip and knowing how many secs to exposure this, I set my paper and expsosed this for 35secs, while the Timer was ticking I quickly left my station to dry my other print outside the darkroom and when I got back I forgot and exposed it again for another 35secs (70secs in total)....I was trying to do 2 things at the same time, and that confused me. So while the clock was ticking I realized...Oh S%[email protected] ... I had already exposed it, but they was no time to print cos class was over...so I put the paper in my drawer, packed up and left. The next day, I was a little confused about the previous day, so inorder to avoid stress i decided to print another image...brought out a fresh paper...put it in the drawer again, so it doesn't get exposed to light (if not image goes totally dark..as some of us know)while i focus the image and set enlarge, run test strips and all (25secs exposure was best for the image). So now I open the drawer and I see 2 plain papers...I didn't know which was which ...now more confused....so I picked one and and exposed the image on the paper...Now when I got to the developer, as I submerged the paper and chemicals travel across the surface.....what you see on the left was what I saw...The image over the shadow was what I was trying to print (Another MoMA exhibition). LOL.....everyone in class thought it was creative...a mistake turned out to be something interesting. LOL....So finally I made the print of the shadow...what you see on the right...Thats how it's supposed to be. The other print of the MoMA exhibition...I didn't even bother cos i had wasted enuff paper...LOL!
