photoblog image Rockefeller Center #2

Rockefeller Center #2

........"Rockefeller Center" is the busiest during the winter holidays, when crowds flock to see the Christmas Show at Radio City Music Hall and then to skate and admire the Christmas tree..... It's a complex of 19 commerical building covering 22 acres. This is the entrance to the center, I chose this particular building because it looks attractive....and kinda reminds me of California in a way.

So I decided to shoot in a different angle....most people capture the same thing but I decided to be different in what I captured at the center.

I hope I have produced another Good one! I appricate all your feedbacks

wonderful capture!
the lines on the floos and the side buildings draw the viewer into the shot!

what a lovely place compared to the flatten rumble 62 years ago today in Hiroshima after the A-bomb was dropped on it...

watched a documentary on Discovery channel yesterday about it...

may it never happen again...
Nacha Kama: Merci kairospix
Lovely composition and I love the splash of colour from the plants amongs all the steel and concrete. (:o)
Nacha Kama: Glad you like it
Ahahhh! Now yes! Thanks Nacha to show "the other face" to us wink smile

Great perspective. smile
Nacha Kama: Thanks Badala!
Always refreshing to see greenery amidst the urban glass and concrete. The wideangle has given a depth to this nearly symmetrical cityscape.
Nacha Kama: Nerci Teng Tan
Those flowers look out of place in all that concrete. This is a good contrast to capture! It may be a good idea to straighten the verticals. It is a minor detail, but I always find the slight tilt a little distracting.
Nacha Kama: I don't think so Martin but however like Ginnie said a few things one might not notice in this spot. Yeah I like the way the shadow falls on one side and natural light on the other side BUT thanks for the pointers wink

What people don't see here, Nacha, if they aren't familiar with this spot (as was my situation before our visit in April) is that this is the end/beginning of a long oasis of plants and pools and statues and water fountains running along the plaza down to the actual Rockefeller building . It really is spectacular! Love your POV.
Nacha Kama: Glad you like Granny :d. you are very right too!
very nice. works for me smile
Nacha Kama: Merci

Interesting shot - find it hard to believe those flowers coould survive in NYC, looks very west coast.

Slight technical hitch, your pavement horizontals are perfect, but the twist on the verticals could be corrected with a skew of the top edge to the left. otherwise perfect ;0) mike
Nacha Kama: Exactly looks very west coastish...why can't flowers survive in NYC???...LOL...Thanks anyways

I always believe in these type of shots to consider what the photographer wants me to see. If you were claiming a picture of the skyscraper the picture would be a failure. You are showing the center and more specific the entrance to what Ginnie is describing. And you were trying a different angle.

I think it is a great shot. Colours, shadow and sunshine. I will always remember Manhattan as these man-made ravines where the sun only shines down to street level for a short time around noon. You have now jogged that memory as well.
Nacha Kama: Na men wasn't claiming that...I couldn't capture everything so my best bet was split the building into two...howeva...MERCI Mr.L! wink

Belle prise de vue, j'aime bien cette végétation colorée qui humanise un peu ces building.

A bientôt,

Daniel
Nacha Kama: Merci Merci Daniel!

Being from California, Nacha, I can recognize what you mean about a "California" feel to this picture. The plants look like they are tropical. Job well done!
Nicely done !

Nice use of converging lines, symmetry and the coulour in the centre.

I was working near Frankfurt last year and there is a street there that is almost identical to this. I don't know if that is scary or not.
