N.Kama 'Against Racism.' New York 2008

YES WE CAN!!!!

Pay attention to me and not my skintone because am your sister not your b!tch, your brother not your nigger. (Nachaiya Kama, 2008)

"Let us all hope that the dark clouds of racial prejudice will soon pass away, and that in some not too distant tomorrow the radiant stars of love and brotherhood will shine over our great nation with all their scintillating beauty." (Martin Luther King, Jr.)

"One day our descendants will think it's incredible that we paid so much attention to things like the amount of melanin in our skin or the shape of our eyes or our gender instead of the unique identities of each of us as complex human beings." (Franklin Thomas)

Ebony and Ivory - great photo NaCha ;o)
Strong Image, that goes well with the message, to me the current position of the hands is one of conflict, but the hands could easily be turned downwards and be relaxed and happy together.

Great sentiments, good picture.

I notice many published BW photos in the magazines I read actually seem to have a hint of red, which makes the picture "friendlier" - you might like to try that and see how you like it. Sometimes greyscale is too clinical.

I have had a lot of thoughts about prejudice and this picture started me thinking - always dangerous and not liked by the state - but this is not the the place.

Thanks for the jolt to the brain cells.

I second Astrid's comment Nacha.smile
Lets all live in harmony together as onesmile
Change is essential but change alone won't solve the negative issues that are so embedded. If the change hopefully occurs it will be a huge catalyst to encourage all people to really work towards all the facets of a better and fairer society.
